Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions about the Sidetracked Home Executives™ card file system? Here's the place to find the answers:
S.H.E.™ is an abbreviation for Sidetracked Home Executives, a system of home management taken from the book of the same name written by Pam Young and Peggy Jones. Other terms you may hear include Sidetracked, SHE cards and Slob Sisters. They refer to concepts presented by Young and Jones in their books.
Early in the 1990's, a group interested in the S.H.E.™ concept formed on the Prodigy Online Service. Cynthia Townley Ewer, a long-time S.H.E.™ user, wrote a weekly column illustrating different aspects of the system. 21 of these essays have been collected and reprinted here. They're designed to help new S.H.E.™ users learn how to set up and operate the cardfile system.

This site explores the original card file method introduced by Pam Young and Peggy Jones' book, Sidetracked Home Executives, originally published in 1977.
Since that date, the "SHE classic" card file system has been used successfully by thousands of S.H.E.s.--and although Flylady's system is different, it is still built upon the same basic principles taught in this book.
With all due respect to Marla Cilley, there is no "one right way" to get organized. If Flylady's version of S.H.E. works for you, great! But for many of us, "SHE classic" is still the way to go, cardfiles and all.
